이번 전시의 타이틀인 <까마귀와 까치>는 지난해, 모든 것이 중단되고 아무것도 할 수 없는 날이 반복되며, 쓰게 된 우울한 일기와 칠하고 지우기를 반복하며 불안을 극복하기 위해 시작되었던 무채색의 동그라미 그림, 창밖으로 본 사람이 떠난 자리에서 유난히 맑고 푸르게 빛나던 봄의 노랑 개나리와 여름의 오동나무 초록빛의 창문 밖 풍경을 그린 내/외면의 풍경들을 말한다.

 누군가를 묻고 돌아오던 산속에서 한 나무에 같이 모여있는 까마귀와 까치를 보았다. 사람의 영역에서 까마귀와 까치는 서로 반대되는 의미를 지니지만 그 또한 한 나무 안에서 함께하는 것 같다. 그것이 무엇이든 함께 존재하는 현재에 대한 이야기를 하고 싶었다.

The title of the exhibition, Crow and Magpie, comes from a melancholy diary I wrote last year at a time when everything stopped and there were days when nothing could be done. The exhibition of Crow and Magpie expresses my interior/external landscape, and includes the achromatic circle paintings that started as a way to overcome my anxiety through repeated painting and erasing, the painting of the yellow forsythia in spring that was exceptionally clear and green at the place where someone was sitting, and the landscape of green paulownia trees in summer that I observed outside the window. The way back from burying someone, I saw a crow and a magpie gathered together in a tree in the mountains. In the realm of human culture, the crow and magpie have opposite associations, but they also seem to be together in the same tree. Whatever it meant, I wanted to tell a story about the present that exists together.
